Overview

This is a command line wireless network manager written in Perl. I have nothing but problems with the built in network manager under Ubuntu becoming unstable after a suspend. So I made this command line version that provides a nice interface for joining networks.

perlwm.jpg (Name and ESSID removed) I found that this program will work when everything else fails.

Features

  • Join by ESSID or MAC address
  • Simple design using existing iwconfig tools. No extra Perl modules needed.
  • Support for WEP encryption
  • Easy to use, just press the number of the network you want to join. It will try DHCP by default.

To Do

  • Support static IP
  • Support WPA and WPA2
  • Docs (read the source for setup info)
